It is difficult to know when the first “clarinet” was invented, but single reed instruments have been used for ages. It wasn’t until the 1700s that the first clarinet was invented. It looked very different from today’s clarinets. Now the clarinet is a must have for any orchestra or woodwind group. The clarinet boasts with making beautiful low sounds, to high pitch squeaky noises.
We have a range of studio spaces at the Academy to help teach the clarinet in a quiet and relaxing environment. To teach the clarinet, we use a range of teaching resources to help you create the different moods of this instrument. We can offer guidance with maintaining this instrument, what reeds are appropriate to buy and tips on how to create the perfect sound.
